Invoice customization settings

This article covers the invoice customization settings available in Settings > Billing > Invoices.
Design
The section controls the overall appearance of your invoices, including the layout, logo size, and accent color.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| a. Layout | Defines how invoice elements are arranged relative to each other. |
| b. Logo size | Sets how big or small your firm logo appears on invoices, from Small to Large. Requires a firm logo to be uploaded. |
| c. Color | Sets the accent color, which affects the invoice title and the line item table header. Choose a suggested color or enter a custom HEX code. |
Firm info
Determines which firm details appear on invoices. Click Manage to access the firm info settings.

| Address | Shows your firm’s address on invoices. |
| Website | Shows your firm’s website on invoices. |
| Shows your firm’s email on invoices. | |
| Phone | Shows your firm’s phone number on invoices. |
Custom fields
Shows the account custom fields on your portal, with toggles to include their values in the client information section of invoices. Only account custom fields are available—contact custom fields cannot be added. Click Manage to access the custom field settings.

By default, all custom fields are disabled for PDF invoices.Line item columns
Controls which line item columns appear on invoices created afterward.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Service date | Displays the date when the specified services were provided. You can manually edit this field while creating an invoice, or it populates automatically from the End field of the time entry if the invoice is created from WIP or a time entry . If generated via the Create invoice automation, it populates with the automation trigger date. |
| Description | Adds a description of the line item. |
| Tax | Includes tax rates on line items. |
| Rate & Qty | Displays the line item tariff/rate and quantity . |
| Team member | Displays the team member associated with the line item. |
Invoice description on PDFs
Available on the General tab, at Settings > Billing > General.

|---|---|
| Include invoice description in PDFs | Controls whether the invoice description appears in PDFs. Default: on. |
Preview your invoice
Click Preview at the top right of the Invoices settings page to see how these settings apply to a PDF invoice with placeholder data.
